BRAND NEW HD MASTER FROM A 4K SCAN OF THE ORIGINAL CAMERA NEGATIVE! Hy Averback (I Love You, Alice B. Toklas!) directed this hilarious and wild comedy with an all-star cast in the tradition of The Russian Are Coming! The Russians Are Coming! Brian Keith (The McKenzie Break), Ernest Borgnine (Marty), Suzanne Pleshette (Support Your Local Gunfighter) and Tony Curtis (Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies) co-star in this sharp and amusing comedy that pits the fed-up brass of an Army base against the fired-up citizens of a nearby town. In an effort to shore up a shaky truce between civilians and base personnel, three hapless Army buddies find themselves appointed “community public relations officers.” Unfortunately, Sergeant Shannon Gambroni’s (Curtis) idea of community relations include pursuing and wooing Ramona (Pleshette), a sexy waitress whom Sheriff Harve (Borgnine) considers his personal property. And when ammo and amour finally clash, in an outrageous battle royal, who will ultimately surrender? The first-rate cast includes Ivan Dixon (A Patch of Blue), Tom Ewell (The Seven Year Itch), Bradford Dillman (Chosen Survivors), Arthur O’Connell (Anatomy of a Murder), John Fiedler (The Cannonball Run), Christopher Mitchum (Big Jake) and screen great Don Ameche (Midnight).
Blu-ray Extras Include:
NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historians Dr. Eloise Ross and Dr. Dean Brandum
