Mozart: A Childhood Chronicle is a unique cinematic and musical event -- a major biographical film on the formative years of history's most versatile and, arguably, greatest composer.

Drawing its inspiration from the letters of the Mozart family, the film carefully chronicles the early life of the prodigious Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Dramatized excerpts from these letters and Mozart's private diary, together with his glorious music, give us an intimate portrait of a young genius torn between creative independence and and the strict regimentation of his family and society.

Thanks to musical dramaturg Franz Beyer, Mozart's greatest pieces are scored using original instrumentation and arrangements, and are remarkably rendered here by Europe's greatest orchestras. Included are such works as Lucio Silla, Violin Concerto in G Major, K. 216 and Piano Concerto, K. 467.
