Five and the Skin
Directed by Pierre Rissient
A man, Ivan, returns to Manila, seemingly aimless. At the whim of his wanderings and his encounters, the writer strolls through the fascinating megalopolis in search of his past and the meaning of his existence.
Five and the Skin is the second film by Pierre Rissient, a pioneering filmmaker and pioneer of great writers such as Jerry Schatzberg, King Hu and Lino Brocka. The director combines his mastery and sensuality with his classics: Hollywood classic cinema, jazz, poetry and Manila, making this film a real viewing experience that is as much about the viewer's sensitivity as his intelligence.
